Summer Art Challenge 1 - Daisy
(Learn More about Georgia here. http://www.okeeffemuseum.org/about-georgia-okeeffe.html)
Welcome to Summer Art Challenge 1. I will be posting drawing challenges three days a week. Your drawing will improve greatly if you draw daily. One tip is to create a handy art tote with pencils and a sketchpad that you can tote along with you. Suddenly those boring car rides and wait times become an opportunity to draw and create.
Each challenge will consist of a doodle project, and a how-to-drawing project. Feel free to complete all or just stop at one. The important thing is that you are practicing your drawing projects. This month I will be concentrating on botanical (plant) drawings.
Field Trip!!!!
We will wrap up our month of drawing with a trip to the Arboretum and Botanical Gardens located in Overland park. Tuesdays are free, so put Tuesday, July 1st on your calendar and join us if you can. http://www.opkansas.org/things-to-see-and-do/arboretum-and-botanical-gardens/arboretum-hours-fees/
Artist of the month
Because we are studying flowers this month, I thought a great artist to check out this month would be Georgia O'Keeffe. If you would like to know more about her, check out the link above.
