Week 3

This week we began the hour by showing the drawings that we worked on during the week.

We didn't talk about our next two fundamental building blocks of art, because we needed to move onto our project.  I hope you can watch the videos below so that we can add these two more fundamentals to our list.  Also, I have linked the color version of your fundamentals book so that you can see the color wheel.

1.  The art element color.

  • Here is a nice simple Video for learning the color wheel.
  •  Book Link (Go to pages 9-11)   You will find that the color wheel is one of your most helpful tools.

2.  The art principle Variety.

  • Here is a short video demonstrating Variety.

Next we moved on to our main project, designing our Mugs.

They have been baked!  I will hopefully be able to post pictures today.

Mission #3
Your 3rd mission, should you choose to accept it, is to practice drawings for the framed art project we will complete next week.  This is a nice project for mixed media.  You may want to use watercolor or add dimension to your project.  The finished project will be  8.5" x 7".

You may draw whatever you like, but again this week we will be practicing a different type of drawing that will help you overall in your drawing skills.   Enjoy the process.  Remember practice makes better.  Don't forget to bring your practice drawings to show the class and add to your portfolio.

This week we will be be practicing drawing animals .
